According to a December survey report from research firm Bishop & Associates, although the connector industry ’s development trend continues to slow, the connector industry ’s sales volume in November still rose by 3.3% year-on-year
As shown in the figure below, orders and shipments of the global connector industry have shown a downward trend in the same period last year, exceeding the second half of 2014.
Nevertheless, orders in November 2014 increased by 2.1% over November 2013, and year-to-date orders increased by 6.8% year-on-year.
China continues to maintain the fastest growth rate, with connector sales maintaining a growth rate of more than 14%. The North American market recovered slightly, increasing by about 7.0%. In the rest of the world, following North America, sales growth in Europe slowed to 6.7%, and the Asia-Pacific region rose by about 6.5%.
The report states that North American order shipment growth has fallen again, despite rising industrial production, retail sales and auto sales. According to Bishop's report, in view of the current situation, the confidence index of the North American market for the connector industry fell more than 10 points, from 91.7 in October to 78.3 in November. This is a positive outlook for 23 consecutive months. The future confidence index will fall from 86.5 in October to 83.3 in November.
